Operation Red Stripe Stifles Crime

OCT 01 -- MELBOURNE – An area of southern Melbourne is safer today as Drug Enforcement Administration and City of Melbourne Police Department made arrests this morning as a result of Operation Red Stripe. DEA and Melbourne Police also searched four houses pursuant to state arrest warrants. The seven month investigation also resulted in the seizure of c rack and powder cocaine, handguns, and assault rifles.

DEA Miami Field Division Special Agent in Charge Mark R. Trouville stated “This area had become a high priority for the city of Melbourne because of the crimes related to drugs, guns, and gangs. Joining the resources of the DEA and Melbourne Police Department is the most effective way of improving life for those victimized by these crimes.”

The investigation in this case was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Melbourne Police Department, and Titusville Police Department. The United States Attorney’s Office Middle District of Florida and The Florida State Attorney’s Office in Brevard County will prosecute the defendants.
