DEA's New Orleans Division Co-Hosts Symposium

MAY 6 -- On May 6, 2009, SAC Jimmy Fox III of the DEA New Orleans Office and HIDTA Director Tony Soto co-hosted a law enforcement symposium entitled, “Law Enforcement’s Response to the Global Drug Threat in the New Millennium.” The symposium was attended by one hundred ranking officers or officials from seventy-five Federal, state and local agencies throughout the New Orleans Field Division’s AOR which includes Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas and Alabama. SOD SAC Derek Maltz gave a presentation entitled, “The Nexus Between Drug Trafficking and Terrorism” and Fusion Center Director Jack Riley gave a presentation entitled, “The Mexican Threat and It’s Relationship to the U.S.” SAC Fox, SAC Maltz and Director Riley participated in a “Q & A” for the local media after the symposium.
