Release [print-friendly version] Harvey Man Sentenced to 25 Years for Federal Drug Charges SEP 04 -- NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA - TRAVIS J. EVERY, age 35, a resident of Harvey, Louisiana, was sentenced today in federal court by U. S. District Judge Martin L. C. Feldman to twenty-five (25) years (300 months) for conspiracy and distribution crack cocaine, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten. In addition to incarceration, Judge Feldman ordered that the defendant be placed on ten (10) years of supervised release following the term of imprisonment during which time he will be under federal supervision and risk additional imprisonment should he violate any terms of supervision. According to court documents, EVERY previously pled guilty admitting that on three separate occasions between September, 2006 and December, 2006, he sold various quantities of crack cocaine to an individual cooperating with federal law enforcement. In addition, EVERY admitted that he also participated in a conspiracy from sometime prior to January 1, 2007 through approximately November 9, 2007, during which time he distributed approximately two and one-half (2 ½) kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, of which 1.5 kilograms was then converted to cocaine base (crack). The case was investigated by the United States Drug Enforcement Administration and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. It was prosecuted by Assistant U. S. Attorneys Edward J. Rivera and Kevin Boitmann. |
