Tennessee Man Indicted for Distribution of Cocaine

NOV 06 -- NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA - ROBERT LEE, a/k/a/ Raazaan Muhammed, age 63, a resident of Memphis, Tennessee, was indicted by a federal grand jury sitting in New Orleans on charges of conspiracy to distribute and distribution of cocaine hydrochloride, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten. 

According to indictment, beginning at an unknown time until approximately October 31, 2009, LEE participated in a conspiracy to distribute more than five hundred grams of cocaine hydrochloride.  The indictment also alleges that on October 31, 2009, LEE distributed a quantity of cocaine hydrochloride.  

If convicted, the defendant faces a possible maximum sentence of forty (40) years imprisonment, a fine of $2,000,000. and at least four (4) years of supervised release as to the conspiracy count; and twenty (20) years, a fine of $1,000,000.00 and at least three (3) years of supervised release as to the distribution count.  

U. S. Attorney Letten reiterated that the indictment is merely a charge and that the guilt of the defendant must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

The investigation is being conducted by Special Agents of the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office.  The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U. S. Attorney Andre’ Jones.
