friendly page] Three Franklin County Men Indicted on Federal Methamphetamine Charges
AUG 25 -- (St. Louis, MO): Three men from St. Clair, MO have been indicted on multiple charges involving the manufacture of methamphetamine, Acting United States Attorney Michael W. Reap announced today. In separate cases: Robert Fay Wheeler, 45, and Levi Wheeler, 24, both of St. Clair, MO, were indicted on one felony count each of possession with intent to distribute in excess of 50 grams of methamphetamine and one felony count of possession of pseudoephedrine with the intent to manufacture methamphetamine. Additionally, Robert Wheeler is charged in one felony count with manufacturing in excess of 50 grams of methamphetamine. Their alleged activities took place in July 2009, in Franklin County. Paul Dean Wallace, 25, St. Clair, MO, was indicted by a federal grand jury on two felony counts of possession of pseudoephedrine knowing it would be used to manufacture methamphetamine for his alleged activities between October and July 2008, in Franklin County. Possession of pseudoephedrine with intent to manufacture methamphetamine carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and/or fines up to $250,000; possession with intent to manufacture in excess of 50 grams of methamphetamine and manufacturing in excess of 50 grams of methamphetamine carries a penalty range of 5 to 40 years in prison and/or fines up to $2 million. Reap commended the work on the cases by the Drug Enforcement Administration and Franklin County Narcotics Unit. The charges set forth in an indictment are merely accusations, and each defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. |
