Centreville, Illinois Man Sentenced to 33 Months for
Distributing Ecstasy

NOV 10 -- (EAST ST. LOUIS, IL) - A. Courtney Cox, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, announced that on November 6, 2009, Demarco R. WILLIAMS, age 28, of Centreville, Illinois, was sentenced to 33 months imprisonment, fined $500 and placed on 3 years supervised release for distributing MDMA “Ecstacy” in violation of Title 18 United States Code Section 841.

WILLIAMS pled guilty on July 22, 2009, in U.S. District Court in East St. Louis, to distributing a total of over 1,000 MDMA “Ecstasy” tablets. The distributions occurred between May of 2007 and October of 2008.

The investigation was conducted under the auspices of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force, with the and Drug Enforcement Administration as the lead agency, assisted by the Fairmont City Police Department . The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Ranley R. Killian.
