DEA
Dayton and the Greene County Task Force
Seize Over $3 Million in
Suspected Drug Money
On
January 15, 2004 members of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration
(DEA) Dayton Office and the Greene County Narcotics Task Force were
conducting a joint operation into drug and currency trafficking in
the Greater Dayton area. As part of the investigation, members executed
two federal search warrants at 1605 and 1607 Manette Place in the City
of Dayton.
In the early morning hours of January 15, these search warrants were
executed at both residences, which are a connected duplex home. While
securing the occupants of 1607 Manette Place, agents recovered three
thirty-one gallon plastic storage containers. These containers contained
$3,122,983 in suspected drug proceeds related to the ongoing narcotics
investigation. The currency was secured and transported for processing
and forfeiture proceedings. Six people were identified at the scene and
the criminal investigation is continuing.
