Two Kentucky Crack Dealers Plead Guilty
More than 2 kilos of crack cocaine seized from Louisville home

JUN 17 -- LOUISVILLE, KY - Andre Gipp, age 25, of Gaulbert Street, and Aubrey Lamont Walker, age 34, of Compton Street, both of Louisville, Kentucky, pled guilty to charges of conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute crack cocaine, U.S. Attorney David L. Huber of the Western District of Kentucky announced today.

Gipp and Walker pled guilty and admitted that between April 9, 2007, and April 11, 2007, they aided and abetted each other to possess with the intent to distribute 50 grams or more of crack cocaine. The total amount of crack cocaine seized in this case was 2,250 grams worth at least $225,000 on the street. Walker also pled guilty to two other cocaine related trafficking charges.

During the plea hearing, facts were revealed that on April 11, 2007, DEA Agents and officers from the Louisville Metro Police, executed a search warrant at Walker’s residence located at 516 Compton Street, Louisville, Kentucky. During the search of the residence, Andre Gipp, busted out of a window and attempted to flee the location. He was immediately apprehended by DEA Agents. In the residence, Walker was detained by agents and confessed that there was crack cocaine hidden under the basement sink. DEA Agents located 1,000 grams of crack cocaine underneath the sink, and also located 1,250 grams of crack cocaine in a drain pipe next to the sink. The total amount of crack cocaine found was approximately 2,250 grams.

In the event of a conviction, the maximum potential penalties are life imprisonment, a $4,000,000 fine, and supervised release for a period of 5 years. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Daniel P. Kinnicutt, and it was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Louisville Metro Police Department, and the Floyd County Sheriff’s Department.

Both defendants are scheduled to appear for sentencing before the United States Magistrate Judge on September 4, 2008, at 1:30 p.m., in Louisville, Kentucky.
