JAN 27--On
January 9, 2004, the Arkansas State Police conducted a routine traffic
stop in Alma, Arkansas. After receiving a traffic citation, the driver
consented to a search of the vehicle. Arkansas State Police officers
then discovered a hidden compartment containing 10 kilograms of cocaine.
The driver was then arrested for violations of Arkansas State narcotics
laws. DEA agents from the Fayetteville RO and Fort Smith POD were contacted
and the subject agreed to assist agents with the delivery of the cocaine
to West Palm Beach, Florida. On January 11, the vehicle was delivered
to a shopping center in Lake Worth, Florida, and it was eventually
driven to a nearby residence. Surveillance was established at that
location and West Palm Beach RO agents observed three males and two
females at the residence. Agents then obtained consent to search the
residence and discovered approximately 2 pounds of marijuana and approximately
$50,000. Altogether, West Palm Beach RO agents arrested six subjects. |
