On November 8, 2004 SA, George J. Cazenavette, IV, Demand
Reduction Coordinator for the New Orleans Field Division, visited Baton
Rouge, LA and Oak Grove, LA. In Baton Rouge SA Cazenavette addressed
freshmen at Broadmoor High School. The topic was drugs and the negative
effect that drugs can have on your health was emphasized. SA Cazeanvette
also stressed the importance of associating with those who have also
made a commitment to be drug free. SA Cazenavette was invited to speak
at Broadmoor High School by Mrs. Dana Sam of I CARE located in Baton
Rouge.
From Baton Rouge, SA Cazenavette drove north to Oak Grove to visit West
Carol Partners in Prevention. This is a coalition that was established
with the aid of now retired DEA Special Agent Mike Streicher. SA Cazenavette
was invited to speak to the Junior Coalition and their parents by Ms. Toni
Shumate. A return trip is scheduled for December and SA Cazenavette will
visit several schools in the area.
