DEA Helps To Break Up East Idaho Meth Ring
11 arrested, charges include drug offenses and immigration violations

APR 4 -- (SEATTLE) – DEA Special Agent in Charge Rodney G. Benson announced today the dismantlement of a methamphetamine drug trafficking organization that had been operating in East Idaho for the past year.

“After more than a year of operating a criminal enterprise, this drug trafficking organization has finally been dismantled,” said Benson. “The citizens of Idaho can be assured that the DEA, working together with our other federal, state and local law enforcement partners, will continually focus our efforts and resources to ensure the safety of Idaho communities by bringing to justice those persons who participate in illegal drug trafficking activities.”

Federal, State and local law enforcement agencies executed multiple search and arrest warrants on locations in southeast Idaho today related to a methamphetamine ring that has allegedly been operating for the last several years. Undercover agents have been investigating the group for sometime, and have purchased methamphetamine from several organization members. Discovered during the course of searches were additional narcotics along with the seizure of currency and vehicles.

Eleven persons in total were arrested in connection with the search warrants and charged with various offenses, including distribution of methamphetamine and immigration violations. Other departments and agencies participating in the investigation included Idaho State Police; Bingham County Sheriff’s Office; Bannock County Sheriff’s Office; Pocatello Police Department; Blackfoot Police Department; Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms; and Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
