Gray Wolf Fun Facts:

• Wolves can run as fast at 40 miles-per-hour for short distances.

• When wolf populations in the lower 48 states were listed as endangered, there were only a couple hundred left in these areas. Now there are more than 5000 in the wild (See map).

• Wolves can produce fertile offspring with both coyotes and certain species of dogs.
