Our Anniversary Events

1909 On November 16, 1909, then-Attorney-General George W. Wickersham established the Public Lands Division of the United States Department of Justice.

On November 16, 2009, Attorney General Eric H. Holder commemorated the 100th Anniversary of the Division – known today as the Environment and Natural Resources Division. 2009

The Environment Division is observing this significant milestone of public service with several events during this year, providing a variety of opportunities for employees, alumni, and associates to recognize the occasion.  These events culminated with the Centennial Celebration on November 16, 2009.
