• What are the office hours of the Los Angeles Immigration Court?

The Los Angeles Immigration Court is open 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except Federal holidays. See the Court Observed Holidays under General Information. The information window is open for filings and other matters from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Hearings commence at 8:30 a.m. each morning and 1:00 p.m. each afternoon.

• Where is the Los Angeles Immigration Court located?

The Los Angeles Immigration Court is located at 606 S. Olive Street, at the southeast corner of 6^th Street and Olive Street in downtown Los Angeles, south of Pershing Square park. From the Harbor Freeway, #110, take the 6^th Street off ramp and go east on 6^th Street to Olive Street. For your convenience, you may use the following mapping service Yahoo! Maps. Upon entering the building, take the elevators on the south end of the lobby to the 15^th floor where the daily calendars are posted and the information window is located. The courtrooms are located on the 14^th, 16^th and 17^th floors.

• What is the Court's fax number?

The fax machine is for internal use only.

• Where are the public restrooms located?

The public restrooms are located on the 14^th, 15^th, 16^th and 17^th floors.

• Where are the public telephones located?

Public telephones are located in the hallway on the 14^th, 15^th, 16^th and 17^th floors.

• Where is the Court's information window?

The information window is located on the 15^th floor.

• Where can I call to get information about my case?

The Immigration Court Information System telephone number is 1-800-898-7180. This automated system will provide information about your next hearing date, asylum processing information, decision information, case appeal information and filing information. The information is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This information will be provided in either English or Spanish. You must have the alien registration number to obtain the case information.

• Where are the hearings conducted for detainees?

The Los Angeles Immigration Court conducts non-detained hearings only with the exception of the detained juvenile hearings conducted at the Federal Building, 300 N. Los Angeles Street, 8^th Floor, Room 8547, Los Angeles. These hearings are conducted on Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. Two other Immigration Courts in Los Angeles County conduct detained hearings only: the Lancaster Immigration Court and the San Pedro Immigration Court.

• Do I have to have an attorney?

No, but you have the right to have an attorney, at no expense to the government, assist you and represent you in hearings.

• I cannot afford an attorney. What should I do?

While you have the right to an attorney, one will not be provided. We cannot recommend an attorney but you may wish to use the list of free legal services providers which has the names of free and low cost attorneys and accredited representatives in the area. See under Legal Aid. The list is updated quarterly.

• Where are the courtrooms located and what are the courtroom assignments?

The courtrooms are located on the 14^th, 16^{th, 17th} and 18^th floors. See the Courtroom Assignments under Visitor Information.

• When may the Court's record of proceeding be reviewed?

Requests for the review of the record of proceeding by the respondent or the attorney or accredited representative of record should be submitted in writing at the reception window. Many requests for review of the court's records are received each week and, therefore, the review of records of proceeding are scheduled in one hour increments. Please submit your request well in advance of the scheduled hearing. The judge's court clerk will notify you as to the time and date. Please be prompt.

• Where should I go to get fingerprinted by DHS for applications to be filed with the Los Angeles Immigration Court?

• How do I notify the court of my change of address?

You must notify the court of any change of address within five days of the change by completing and submitting the form EOIR 33. The form may be obtained in the courtrooms or at the information window on the 15^th floor.

• I don't speak English. Will there be an interpreter at the hearing?

The Los Angeles Immigration Court will provide an interpreter in the language that you speak and understand best. During the hearing, the interpreter will provide a full and complete interpretation of the hearing.

• What documents should I bring to court?

You should bring the Notice to Appear and the hearing notice for each person in proceedings. At the hearing, the Immigration Judge will advise you as to which documents would be beneficial to your case. Be sure to make photocopies of these documents in advance and bring both the originals and photocopies to court.

• Will the court make photocopies of documents for me?

No, the court cannot provide photocopy services for the public.

• Should I bring my children to court?

You should bring the children who have received a Notice to Appear to the hearing. The judge will advise you at the hearing as to whether the children in proceedings should attend future hearings.

• How can I get work authorization?

The Immigration Court does not issue work authorization. You must contact the Department of Homeland Security.
