The San Pedro Immigration Court conducts hearings for persons who are detained at this facility or at the Terminal Island Correctional Institution which is located across the street. Only cases for detained persons are heard here.

At the present time there are two Immigration Judges who hold master calendar hearings on Monday through Thursday in the morning and individual hearings on Monday through Thursday in the afternoon and Friday mornings. Bond redetermination hearings are held during Master Calendars. (See Checklist For Bond Hearing Requests for Cases Not on Calendar and Bond Questionnaire.) Hearings start promptly at 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
Custody Redetermination requests for cases currently not scheduled for hearing are set within three days of filing the request with the Immigration Court. Attorneys should be prepared and available to represent their client on the date the court sets for the custody hearing.
