Judges' Requirements

The Immigration Judges in York encourage all those appearing before them to be prepared and ready to go forward with their case on the day of the hearing.
The Judges also promote the use of the written and oral pleading formats. Attorneys, particularly those out of state, are encouraged to use the written pleadings format.
Telephonic hearings are permitted only with prior permission granted by the Immigration Judge. Permission can be requested by submitting a written motion to the Court prior to the hearing date. A phone number and reason for appearing telephonically must be included in the motion.
