Deputy Assistant Attorney General Information Resources Management/Chief Information Officer
Luke J. McCormack was appointed as the Department of Justice, Deputy Assistant Attorney General for Information Resources Management/Chief Information Officer (CIO) on March 26, 2012. The Office of the CIO provides strategic direction, management services, oversight to cross-component information technology efforts and IT infrastructure services. As CIO, Mr. McCormack will provide leadership and oversight of the department’s information technology programs and services in support of the department’s technology-intensive law enforcement mission.
Prior to joining the Department, he served as the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) CIO since 2005. As the agency's top technology administrator, Mr. McCormack brings significant management expertise from a career in both government and the private sector.
At ICE, Mr. McCormack re-aligned the CIO organization to ensure that the goals and objectives supported the overall ICE mission, current operational priorities, core business processes and emerging information technology needs. During his tenure at ICE, he strengthened the agency’s cybersecurity and infrastructure operations and modernized a variety of business systems.
Mr. McCormack holds an MBA from the Smith School, University of Maryland, and holds key certifications from Columbia University and the National Defense University.
