
| Definition | Annual premium pay for administratively uncontrollable overtime work (AUO pay) is an optional form of premium pay designed to compensate employees who perform overtime work that can not be administratively controlled.
Note: If an agency opts not to pay AUO pay, it must pay for each hour of overtime work performed. |
| Amounts | AUO pay ranges from 10 to 25 percent of the employee's rate of basic pay (including locality pay and special pay adjustments for law enforcement officers).
Note: The exact percentage is determined according to a schedule in the OPM regulations. |
