National Security Professional Development

Established by Executive Order 13434, the National Security Professional Development (NSPD) is a government-wide initiative to develop a cadre of professionals who possess a broad understanding of our Nation's national security objectives beyond their own agency's missions and the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to lead and execute coordinated, effective national security operations.

TRAINING

   √     National Security Strategy Training: "National Security Objectives, Structures and Processes: An Introduction"

The recently published NSPD Orientation Plan (10-03-08) Phase 2 (National Security Strategy), Goal 1 calls for all SES NSPs to complete the on-line training module, "National Security Objectives, Structures and Processes: An Introduction" by December 31, 2008, unless they have demonstrated competence by prior training or experience.
