The Department of Justice (DOJ) Awards and Events Office manages and coordinates a number of Departmentwide programs and special events including the Attorney General’s Awards Ceremony; Attorney General’s Volunteer Awards Ceremony; Justice Management Division Awards Ceremony; Presidential Rank Awards Ceremony; Summer Intern Lecture Program; DOJ Kids Day; and the Department’s participation in Public Service Recognition Week.
The Awards and Events Office also manages the DOJ External Awards Program. Throughout the year, various organizations and agencies solicit nominations for a wide range of awards and fellowships. These awards provide an opportunity for DOJ Components to honor employees, highlight best practices, and enhance the image of Department initiatives.
All of these programs play a vital role in ongoing Departmentwide efforts to recruit, hire, and retain a talented and diverse workforce; acknowledge and honor exceptional contributions made by DOJ employees; and promote volunteerism.
