Successfully Managing Worklife Programs

The most valuable asset the Department has is its employees. One of your most important responsibilities as a manager is to ensure that your employees are knowledgeable about their career path, training options, and professional development opportunities. It is also vital that your employees have information about, and use, Worklife-type Programs that are appropriate to their needs. Appropriate use of the Worklife Programs will help increase employees’ performance, creativity, and dedication, and ultimately will reduce the amount of resources the Department invests in recruiting and training new employees.

The following tips may help make your own experience with Worklife Programs more rewarding for you as a manager and for your employees. Remember that one of your most valuable resources is the Component Worklife Coordinator, who stands ready to assist you and answer your questions.
