On March 8, in honor of International Women’s Day, the ICITAP Engaging Multinational Police Women on Equality and Rights (EMPoWER) team joined counterparts from the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Counterterrorism to release a three-part podcast episode, which highlights both Departments’ joint work in advancing the Women, Peace, and Security Agenda.

During Black History Month, and in moments of personal adversity, I find strength by looking at my own hands, a reminder of the legacy I carry. My parents’ perseverance wasn’t just about survival; it was a manifestation of their belief in better days ahead. This belief led them to leave the farm in 1968, seeking a future beyond the cotton fields of Creston.

The Justice Department’s Environment and Natural Resources Division (ENRD) sent two attorneys to Guatemala to conduct a workshop for Guatemalan law enforcement officials. Approximately 25 Guatemalan officials participated in the workshop. Funding for the trip was provided by the State Department Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs.
