Chris Dudley
Chris Dudley became the Deputy Director
for the U.S. Marshals Service in September 2009.
Previously, Mr. Dudley was the Associate Director for Administration. In
that
capacity, he supervised and coordinated the administrative and support
divisions of the U.S. Marshals Service. These divisions are responsible
for financial and human capital resources, training, information
technology, management support and the asset forfeiture program.
Chris Dudley was named the Chief of Staff to the Director of
the U.S. Marshals Service in June 2006. In that capacity, Mr. Dudley
assisted both the Director and Deputy Director with the oversight of the
daily operations and strategic planning of the agency, and setting and
implementing policy for the service. Prior to joining the Office of the
Director, Mr. Dudley was the Chief of the Domestic Investigations
Branch. The Domestic Investigations Branch is responsible for the
oversight of the fugitive task force program, 15 Most Wanted program,
and budget, policies and programs related to domestic fugitive
investigations. Before assuming his duties with the Domestic
Investigations Branch, Mr. Dudley was assigned to the International
Investigations Branch, first as a Senior Inspector and then as the Chief
of the Branch from November 1999 until October 2004.
A career U.S. Marshals Service employee, Mr. Dudley joined the agency as
a Deputy U.S. Marshal in the Northern District of Georgia, Atlanta
Division in 1990. During his eight-year tenure in Atlanta, he worked in
all aspects of the U.S. Marshals Service and was a member of the
fugitive investigations unit. He also worked on several state and local
task forces and participated in numerous fugitive operations including
Operation Trident, Operation Gunsmoke, Operation Olympus, and the
development of the Puerto Rico Fugitive Task Force. In 1998, he was
promoted to Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal in the Washington, D.C.,
field office.
A native of Athens, Ga., Mr. Dudley was raised in Blacksburg, Va. He
received a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Business
Management from Clemson University in 1988.
Mr. Dudley is former chair of the International Liaison Officer’s
Association and is a member of the Federal Law Enforcement Officers
Association, the International Association of Chiefs of Police and the
National Sheriffs’ Association.
Mr. Dudley is married. He and his wife have one child. |
