Asset Forfeiture
The primary mission of the Department of Justice Asset Forfeiture Program is to employ asset forfeiture powers in a manner that enhances public safety and security. This is accomplished by removing the proceeds of crime and other assets relied upon by criminals and their associates to perpetuate their criminal activity against our society. Asset forfeiture has the power to disrupt or dismantle criminal organizations that would continue to function if we only convicted and incarcerated specific individuals.
Assets available for sale are listed at http://www.usmarshals.gov/assets/assets.html

Eastern District of Arkansas

The Eastern District of Arkansas does not maintain a mailing list regarding seized property sales.

All local vehicle auctions or bid sales are advertised in the classified section of the Arkansas Democrat Gazette, in the general notices section. The ads will run on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of the week preceding the sale. The ad will list the property to be sold, date, place, terms of the sale, along with the viewing times. Additional information regarding these assets can be obtained by telephoning (501) 324-6257, extension 400.

For the disposal of Jewelry, Art, and Coins, the district normally utilizes a national contractor, Lone Star Auctioneers. www.lonestarauctioneers.com

Forfeited real property is normally marketed through an area realtor located in proximity of the property. Note: The Asset Forfeiture Section does not handle sales relating to government foreclosures. These sales are handled by the Operations Section.
