The Miami Federal
Courthouse complex consists of three courthouses
encompassing a two square block area between 3rd and 5th
street just east along North Miami Avenue in downtown
Miami. The three courthouses consist of the David W. Dyer
Building, Tower Building and the James Lawrence King
Building.
The District Magistrate
Court is located in the Dyer Building. District courts
are located in the Tower and King building. The Tower
and Dyer buildings are connected and can be accessed at
301 N. Miami Avenue or the north entrance at 300 N.E.
4th Street. The King Building entrance is located at 99
N.E. 4th Street.
The
Wilkie D. Ferguson building is tentatively scheduled to
open in August of 2006.
The
building is located just west of the existing courthouse
complex at 400 N. Miami Avenue. The structure consists
of twin fourteen story glass towers connected by a large
atrium. The Wilkie D. Ferguson building is
scheduled to open in May 2005.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons,
Federal Detention Center (FDC) Miami is located due west
of the King Building at 33 Northeast 4th street.
The Miami Seized Assets
section and Federal Bankruptcy Court are located in the Claude Pepper Federal Building
approximately three blocks southwest of the courthouse
complex at at 51 S.W. First Avenue, Miami
Florida 33130.
The Courthouse Complex is
located two blocks east of I-95. The area contains
adequate paid parking.
