  • April 9, 2009 - A fugitive wanted on outstanding state charges of homicide by vehicle, great bodily injury by vehicle while intoxicated, and aggravated driving while intoxicated causing bodily injury, was arrested yesterday by a team of law enforcement officers led by U.S. Marshals and the New Mexico State Police.
  • April 3, 2009 - A major fugitive wanted on outstanding state and federal charges of murder, kidnapping, and probation violation (with an underlying charge of convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm) has been apprehended by a team of law enforcement officers led by U.S. Marshals in Albuquerque and Austin, TX.
  • March 23, 2009 - A major fugitive wanted on outstanding state charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Intent to Commit a Violent Felony, Aggravated Burglary, and Bribery/Intimidation of a Witness has been arrested by a team of law enforcement officers led by U.S. Marshals in Lubbock, Texas.  James Michael Cantrell of Phoenix, Arizona was being sought on warrants issued in Santa Fe, New Mexico charging him with the numerous offenses. Cantrell fled New Mexico, and U.S. Marshals and members of the Southwest Investigative Fugitive Task Force (SWIFT) developed information that Cantrell was hiding in the Lubbock area. U.S. Marshals, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and members of the Dallas/Ft. Worth FAST Task Force responded to investigative leads from New Mexico and apprehended Cantrell at a residence in Lubbock without incident.
  • August 29, 2008 - Fugitive Victor Sotelo, one of eight prisoners who escaped from the Curry County Adult Detention Center Sunday night, is back in custody. Sotelo was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Southwest Investigative Fugitive Task Force late last night at an apartment in the 1200 block of Ortiz Street in Southeast Albuquerque.
  • March 21, 2008 - On March 20, 2008 at approximately 4:30 pm, Deputy U.S. Marshals arrested Reginald Cooper at the Greyhound Bus Depot in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Cooper, 32 years of age, was taken into custody based upon an arrest warrant issued in Maryland charging him with Attempted Murder (Firearm).
