The Western District of Texas was honored
for their outstanding work at the 29th Annual Director’s Honorary Awards
Ceremony held on April 9, 2009 in Arlington, VA. W/TX, led by United
States Marshal LaFayette Collins and Chief Deputy Fernando Karl,
received the prestigious Large District of the Year Award for its
overall performance in furthering the missions of the United States
Marshals Service. Its Lone Star Fugitive Task Force was honored with the
Group of the Year Award for record-setting arrests made in its one week
Operation FALCON sweep and continuing law enforcement efforts.
Administrative Officer Sherry A. Poligala received national recognition
as Administrative Employee of the Year for her tireless work in
maintaining fiscal responsibility and accountability in the budgetary
and financial processes in the District. Congratulations to all W/TX
employees for their hard work and dedication. |
