Florida Murder Suspect Arrested in Martinsville
Martinsville, VA - A man wanted for murder in Palm Beach County, Florida was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF) based in Roanoke and the Martinsville Police Department yesterday evening. Michael S. Marquardt, age 38, formerly of Boynton Beach was wanted by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office for First Degree Murder with a Firearm, Armed Robbery and Accessory After the Fact.

Based on a lead from the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force, members of the CARFTF discovered that Marquardt was employed by the Applied Felts Company, 450 College Drive, in Martinsville. Martinsville Police officers and CARFTF members arrested Marquardt at approximately 5:20 pm without incident. Marquardt was incarcerated in the Martinsville City Jail without bond as a Fugitive from Justice and awaits extradition proceedings for his eventual return to Florida.
