CHILD MOLESTATION SUSPECT CAPTURED IN MEXICO - AUTHORITIES PLAN TO EXTRADITE BACK TO US |

San Francisco, California - United States Marshal Federico L. Rocha of the Northern District of California announces the arrest of Juan Morales Jauregui. On May 7, 2009 Juaregui, age 38, was arrested in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico on a federal arrest warrant for violation of 18 U.S.C 1073 (Flight to avoid prosecution). Jauregui was transported to a prison in Mexico City where he will undergo extradition proceedings to the United States This arrest was a result of a joint fugitive apprehension initiative combining the U.S. Marshals Northern California Fugitive Task Force, Agencia Federal de Investigation, and the San Jose Police Department. Jaregui possessed videos and images of child pornography that depicted him molesting several prepubescent children. Three children have been identified and at least one has disclosed multiple incidents of lewd and lascivious acts over a period of several years. Jaregui’s vehicle was found near a hotel on First St in San Jose, CA near the San Jose International airport. The U.S Marshals is committed to the pursuit of justice put forth in the U.S. Constitution. With a legacy dating back to 1789, our mission has remained steadfast. |
