On June 6, 2009, the Jacksonville Sheriff's
Office was called to the scene of what appeared to be a homicide of Tiffany
Nicole Williams (victim). Williams, the girlfriend of the suspect, had been
dead for two days and appeared to have been involved in a struggle. Further
investigation determined that Williams was strangled to death using a cell
phone cord. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office was able to identify a suspect by the name of Adnan Almayahi (boyfriend), and secured an arrest warrant for homicide. After endeavors by the Jacksonville Sherriff’s Office yielded negative results in locating Almayahi, they requested assistance from the United States Marshals Service, Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force (FRFTF). An intense investigation by the FRFTF developed information suggesting Almayahi had fled to the Dearborn/Detroit area. On June 9th the FRFTF coordinated with the United States Marshals Service, Detroit Fugitive Apprehension Task Force (DFAT), with a probable hiding location for Almayahi. DFAT, with the assistance of the Dearborn Police Department (Special Operations Unit), conducted surveillance at addresses in the Dearborn/Detroit metro area. DFAT identified a positive location for Almayahi at the address of 5711 Lumley, Detroit, MI. Next, DFAT and the Dearborn Police Department entered the Lumley residence. After a search, Almayahi was located hiding under the stairs in the basement. Almayahi was arrested without further incident. Almayahi will be housed at the Wayne County Jail pending extradition to Jacksonville, Florida. |
