U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task
Force Arrests
Wakulla County “Most Wanted Fugitive” |
|
Tallahassee, FL – After an exhaustive
three day manhunt, members of the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive
Task Force and investigators from the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office have
arrested 21 year old Stephen Michael Krimmel of Crawfordville, FL for the
offenses of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Use of a Firearm During the
Commission of a Felony, and Narcotics Possession. The charges stem from an
incident which occurred in Wakulla County, FL on June 10, 2009 when Krimmel
was found in possession of 23 stolen firearms during a traffic stop. Krimmel
fled on foot from the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office after a deputy saw
Krimmel fumbling with several handguns in the passenger side floorboard of
the vehicle. The Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from
the U.S. Marshal’s Task Force after learning that Krimmel had fled the
Wakulla County area following the incident.
Krimmel, a self described Folk
Nation Gangster Disciple, had recently been released in February 2009 after
serving time in the Florida Department of Corrections for the offenses of
Burglary and Grand Theft. Krimmel was arrested by task force members early
this morning at a residence located in the 25000 block of Thunder Road off
of Highway 20 in Leon County. Krimmel was arrested without incident after a
team comprised of U.S. Marshals, Leon, Gadsden, and Wakulla County Sheriff’s
Office deputies, Florida Department of Corrections officers, Florida
Department of Law Enforcement Special Agents, and Leon County K-9 units
surrounded the residence in the early morning hours. Krimmel was booked into
the Leon County Jail where he faces additional charges of Violation of
Probation for Burglary (3 Counts) and Grand Theft (3 Counts). Krimmel is
also the prime suspect in the burglary of the 23 firearms from a residence
located on Wide Road in Tallahassee, FL which occurred on June 10, 2009. |
