Pensacola, FL – The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested a man early this morning wanted by both the Pensacola Police Department and Escambia Sheriff’s Office who has been eluding the police since November of last year. Antarus Manche Jackson, 32, was arrested during a felony car stop at the intersection of Navy Boulevard and Jackson Street. The Task Force and Escambia County Patrol Deputies stopped a car in which Jackson was a passenger around 1:30 this morning without and took him into custody without incident. The driver was a Pensacola woman who was detained and released without being charged or cited. The city warrant charges Jackson with Felon in Possession of a Gun, Crack Cocaine Trafficking and Possession of Counterfeit Bills. The charge from the Sheriff’s Office was a Failure to Appear misdemeanor warrant.

Although Jackson did not struggle or fight the officers, he told them his name was, “Jeremy Washington” but he had a hard time spelling it and a birthday which he had a hard time remembering. Eventually he admitted who he really was but was not charged at the time. The Marshals Task Force investigators and Task Force officers from Pensacola Police Department had been trailing Jackson for about two weeks. While the Escambia warrant carries a $2,000 bond the Pensacola City warrant has no bond. Jackson was remanded to the Escambia County Jail pending his court appearance later on Tuesday.

The Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force in Pensacola is made up of officers from the U.S. Marshals Office, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Escambia, Okaloosa and Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Offices, Milton, Pensacola, Ft. Walton Beach, Niceville and DeFuniak Springs Police Departments, State Attorney’s Office, the Office of Attorney General and the 1st Special Operations Security Force at Hurlburt Field.
