Pensacola, FL – The U.S. Marshals Florida
Regional Fugitive Task Force assisted the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office (ECSO)
and arrested two wanted men today who barricaded a door and held two women
and children inside. Marcus Deonte Flintroy, 19, who has five active felony
warrants with the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, was located in an
apartment on the 1800 block of Atwood Dr. by the Task Force and Escambia
Patrol early this morning. At 8:30 a.m., the Task Force knocked on the door
of the apartment but Flintroy would not answer the door. The officers then
ordered him to surrender but he would not come out. The Task Force then
learned the door was blocked from the inside by furniture. As the Task Force
was determining their next move, an unidentified woman held a sign up to the
window indicating that she wanted to come out with her child. The Task Force
then utilized a ladder to gain access to her through a window. She handed
her child to a patrol deputy then came out herself. Shortly thereafter,
Flintroy was spotted inside by a Task Force Officer and ordered out at
gunpoint. As a second woman then handed her baby to the Officer another
man, Christopher Anthony Miller, 20 put up his hands and gave up. The Task
Force then made their way through the front door and contacted the other
woman. Miller has a warrant with the ECSO for Violation of Probation
stemming from Possession of Cocaine, Grand Theft Auto and Grand Theft
charges. Inside the apartment Task Force investigators and members of the Sheriff’s Office Gang Unit found a loaded .40 Caliber handgun with a laser sight attached to it. During their search for more weapons, investigators learned that there were more weapons hidden in the trunk of a car in the woods off Airway Drive in Pensacola. Task Force and Gang Unit officers found the car and inside it was an AK-47 assault rifle along with a 30 round clip. A Task Force officer then found a shotgun with the stock cut off on the front seat of another nearby car. Yesterday afternoon, the Task Force received a tip that Flintroy was walking down Smily Road just around the corner of Airway Drive with a short shotgun. The Task Force and Escambia Patrol along with K9 units searched the area but could not fin Flintroy. Flintroy is being held in Escambia Jail with no bond for Aggravated Assault with a Weapon, Failure to Appear on Cocaine charges, and Violation of Probation for Resisting without Violence, Giving a False Name to Law Enforcement and Driving with a Suspended License.
