OH – On the morning of February 11,
2011, members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force –
Richland County Division arrested Anthony Primm, age 38, at a motel in the 2100
block of East Lincoln Way, Wooster, Ohio. Primm was wanted by the Ashland County
Sheriff’s Office on a bench warrant for violating the terms of his bond after he
did not show up for sentencing on January 07, 2011 in Ashland County Common
Pleas Court. Primm had previously pled guilty to illegal assembly or possession
of chemicals for manufacture of drugs, a felony of the third degree.
Task Force Officers received information several weeks ago that Primm and his
associates frequent the motels in that area of Wooster. On the morning of
February 11, 2011 an alert Task Force Officer observed a vehicle registered to
an associate of Primm’s parked at a local motel. Task Force Officers from the
Ashland County Sheriff’s Office and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office were
called in to assist in the investigation. Contact was made with the occupants of
the room and Primm was found hiding under one of the beds. Task Force Officers
also discovered in the room a loaded 9mm handgun, an undetermined amount of a
white substance believed to be methamphetamine, and materials used in the
manufacturing of methamphetamine. Additional materials used in the manufacturing
of methamphetamine were also located in the trunk of the associate’s vehicle.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office is conducting the investigation into the new
drug and weapon charges on Primm and the Medway Drug Enforcement Agency
responded to the scene to properly handle and collect the hazardous materials
used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine. Primm was transported to the
Ashland County Jail.
Captain Carl Richert, of the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office stated, “This type
of case is exactly why our Sheriff’s Office partnered up with the U.S. Marshals.
When a dangerous felon goes on the run, members of the Task Force can combine
resources to bring that individual to justice. In this case we were able to
bring Primm back to Ashland County to face sentencing and we took a gun and a
meth lab of the streets, making our community a little bit safer.”
