Man Wanted for Sexual Assault Arrested by U.S. Marshals

Honolulu, HI – On Thursday, April 21, 2011 at approximately 6:05am, the Hawaii Adam Walsh Task Force led by U.S. Marshal Deputies along with Hawaii State Sheriff Deputies located and apprehended 52 year-old Celso Rodriguez-Huerta without incident at a residence on 1525 Kewalo Street in Honolulu. Rodriguez-Huerta was wanted pursuant to a Tarrant County Texas arrest warrant for aggravated sexual assault of a child under the age of 14 described as the strong arm sodomy of a juvenile female.
The charge stems from an incident that was reported in 2010 by the victim. Rodriguez-Huerta was booked into the Honolulu Police Department main station where he is being held on a $50,000 bond. He is awaiting extradition to Tarrant County, Texas.

To ensure the safety of children across the country, the U.S. Marshals Service implemented an aggressive enforcement strategy- Adam Walsh Act. Since July 2006, U.S. Marshals have apprehended approximately 20,000 fugitives wanted for sexual assaults, sex offender registration violations and other sex crimes. Additionally, investigators have opened more than 2,200 investigations on convicted sex offenders for violations of the act and arrested more than 400 individuals, who have been federally charged. The Adam Walsh Task Force led by the U.S. Marshals Service is comprised by Hawaii State Sheriff’s Office, State of Hawaii Attorney General’s Office, Honolulu Police Department and the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
