Ft. Walton Beach, FL – The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force from Pensacola caught up with a fugitive who has been eluding law enforcement in 3 local area counties in the panhandle. Angel Christopher Godinez, 19, who has outstanding warrants in Okaloosa, Escambia and Jackson Counties, was arrested at an apartment in Ft. Walton Beach this evening on the 500 Block of Cove Drive just after 7 p.m. As Task Force Officers from Okaloosa and Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Offices and U. S. Marshals approached the apartment, Godinez was seen coming out the front door. Godinez saw the officers and slammed the door on them. The Task Force then kicked the door in and arrested him without further incident. Godinez was found to have about 10 grams of crack-cocaine in his pocket.

Godinez’s warrants include charges from Okaloosa County for Felony Probation Violation for Fleeing and Eluding Law Enforcement Officers and Possession of a Controlled Substance. The State Attorney’s Office in Okaloosa County has also direct filed a warrant for Felony Driving with License Suspended as a Habitual Offender. Escambia County charges Godinez with a separate warrant on the same charge. Godinez is wanted in Jackson County for a Violation of Probation warrant for Dangerous Drugs, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Based on the circumstances at the time of Godinez’s arrest this evening, he was also charged with Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Resisting Arrest.

Godinez is being held in Okaloosa County Jail without bond.
