Toledo, OH – Yesterday, the U.S. Marshal led Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) arrested Rayshawn McCoy. McCoy, a known member of the violent Bloods street gang, was taken into custody without incident. McCoy was wanted by the Toledo Police Department and the Lucas County Sheriff on 10 warrants, 4 of which were felony warrants to include; involuntary manslaughter, robbery, weapons offense, and cocaine possession and sale. The NOVFTF, with the assistance of the Toledo Police Department, were able to locate and arrest McCoy at a home located on the 1800 block of Wychwood Ave. in Toledo, OH. After McCoy’s apprehension he was taken to the Lucas County Jail.

NOVFTF members were involved in a four week manhunt for McCoy. Investigators received information on the possible location of McCoy and set up surveillance at the residence in question. Task Force members observed a man fitting the description of McCoy and converged on the house. McCoy was located inside the home and placed under arrest. During this investigation a number of individuals were arrested on outstanding warrants. In addition, 8 grams of crack cocaine was seized and a 9mm Glock pistol with a fully loaded 30 round magazine was confiscated.

This investigation occurred as part of Operation V-GRIP (Violence – Gun Reduction Interdiction Project) which is a joint law enforcement initiative ongoing within the city of Toledo.
