Jacksonville, FL - Members of the U.S. Marshals Service Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force (FRFTF) arrested a suspect wanted in connection with a Beaufort, SC homicide. Rajerick Lovell Knight of Beaufort, SC was wanted for the murder of Travis Sentell Holmes, 28, inside the Subway restaurant on Tuesday, July 26, 2011. Knight has a violent history of weapon offenses; including pointing a gun at a person, assault with intent to kill and unlawful carrying of a firearm. According to police, Holmes was inside the sandwich shop at about 7 p.m. when Knight and a woman entered. The woman's name has not been released, and it is unclear whether she'll be charged in connection with the murder. Knight left the restaurant with the woman but quickly returned and opened fire on Holmes; and Holmes was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Thursday, July 28, 2011 the Beaufort Police Department requested the assistance from the U.S. Marshals Services Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force on locating Knight. Knight was believed to be in the Jacksonville area and was arrested within 12 hours of the Beaufort Police Department requesting assistance. Knight was identified while walking at the intersection of Ramona and Lane Avenue. Members of the U.S. Marshals Service Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force and a member of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit located and apprehended Knight without incident. Knight is currently housed at the John E. Goode Pretrial Detention Facility waiting extradition to South Carolina.

The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force is comprised of federal, state and local law enforcement officers. The members of the task force combine resources and efforts daily to apprehend violent fugitives of justice through networking with task forces across the country.
