West Sacramento Attempted Homicide Suspect Arrested

Sacramento, CA – U.S. Marshal Albert Najera of the Eastern District of California announced today that the U.S. Marshals Service arrested 18 year old Deshaun Christopher Buford in Sacramento; Buford was wanted for attempted homicide in West Sacramento, CA.

On August 25th 2011 at approximately 9:30 pm, Buford allegedly fired a fully automatic 9mm submachine gun into a residence on Proctor Avenue in West Sacramento. Inside were a young mother and her 2 year old who were just missed by several bullets. Buford had previously been evicted by the home owner and believed to have retaliated by firing approximately 44 rounds into the residence.

A warrant for attempted homicide was issued by West Sacramento Police Department on August 26th 2011. The West Sacramento Police Department shortly thereafter asked for assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service in locating and apprehending Buford. Investigation was ongoing and today information was developed by Deputies and Task Force Officers that Buford was staying at the University Village Apartments in Sacramento. The U.S. Marshals Task Force along with West Sacramento Officers spotted Buford leaving an apartment and swiftly moved in and arrested Buford without incident. Buford was taken back to West Sacramento for questioning.

The Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force is a U.S. Marshals-sponsored partnership comprised of investigators from federal, state, and local agencies.
