San Francisco, CA – U.S. Marshal Don
O’Keefe is proud to announce the arrest of Dexter Oliver, who was sought by
the San Francisco Police Department for his role in an attack on a woman in
San Francisco on Sunday.
Allegedly, Dexter Oliver was involved in an altercation with a woman outside
of a laundromat in San Francisco’s Bayview district when he threw a
flammable liquid on her and set her on fire. It is believed that the two
were in a relationship, although the extent of the relationship and the
circumstances leading to the attack are still under investigation.
At approximately 8:30 pm last night, members of the U.S. Marshals Pacific
Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force, which included Deputy U.S. Marshals
and members of the CDC Parole Fugitive Apprehension Team (FAT), alongside
investigators from the San Francisco Police Department, located and arrested
Oliver at a hotel near the intersection of MacArthur and Telegraph in
Oakland, CA.
“The quick arrest of Dexter Oliver once again shows that violent offenders
will be tracked down and brought to justice,” said U.S. Marshal Don O’Keefe.
The U.S. Marshals Service is the primary federal agency charged with
conducting fugitive investigations throughout the United States. The U.S.
Marshals Service regularly works in concert with other federal, state, and
local law enforcement agencies to seek out and arrest violent fugitives and
sex offenders, and has established task forces throughout the nation to
facilitate the apprehension of fugitives.
