O’Keefe is proud to announce that yesterday morning, in East Palo Alto, CA,
the U.S. Marshals Service Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force (PSWRFTF),
acting on a tip from the U. S. Marshals Vermont Violent Offender Task Force
(VVOTF), arrested a Vermont fugitive who was wanted for aggravated sexual
assault on a minor.
The fugitive, David S. Langevin, age 22, of Barre, Vermont, was arrested by
U. S Marshals Deputies and Task Force Officers on Thursday, February 21,
2013 in East Palo Alto, California.
The alleged sexual assault on the minor occurred in Montpelier, Vermont in
2011. During the course of the investigation into the assault, Langevin left
the state. Because his whereabouts were unknown, an arrest warrant for
Langevin was issued on January 2, 2013. The Washington County Vermont
Sheriff’s Office contacted the U.S. Marshals VVOTF, seeking their assistance
in locating and apprehending Langevin.
Langevin was located and apprehended in East Palo Alto, CA, without incident
and without injury to either him or law enforcement personnel.
Langevin is currently being held in the San Mateo County Jail in Redwood
City, CA, pending an extradition hearing. Langevin’s arrest was a result of
a culmination of investigative efforts by the U.S. Marshals VVOTF and the
U.S. Marshals Service, Northern District of California Pacific Southwest
Regional Fugitive Task Force.
The U.S. Marshals Service is the primary federal agency charged with
conducting fugitive investigations throughout the United States. The U.S.
Marshals Service regularly works in concert with other federal, state, and
local law enforcement agencies to seek out and arrest violent fugitives and
sex offenders, and has established task forces throughout the nation to
facilitate the apprehension of fugitives.
