Pensacola Attempted Murder Suspect Captured in Michigan

Taylor, MI – A Pensacola man who is being sought on multiple charges including attempted murder was captured by members of the U.S. Marshals earlier today in a town outside of Detroit, Michigan. Chandler O’Brien Bass was being sought by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office since early May after he allegedly shot his victim multiple times in what was apparently a drug deal gone awry. U.S. Marshals in Pensacola have been trying to apprehend Bass in Pensacola but got a break late last night and determined that he was in Michigan. Early this morning they contacted the U.S. Marshals Detroit Fugitive Apprehension Team and asked if they would help locate fugitive Bass there. A short while later they responded that “He was in custody.”

“Hopefully this quick response and apprehension enforces to our law enforcement partners the importance of the Marshals Services Task Forces and working together,” stated Inspector Dominic Guadagnoli of the Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force (FRFTF) in Pensacola. “Because these task forces are cohesive groups that extend nationwide apprehensions can be made swiftly.”

The 29 year old Bass, who is also wanted on charges of Convicted Felon in Possession of a Weapon and a Violation Probation warrant for a cocaine possession conviction; was arrested at an apartment complex on the 23000 Block of Crissler Street in Taylor, Michigan at about noon EST. The Marshals FRFTF in Pensacola arrested Bass once before during a sweep they conducted in late 2010. He was wanted then for Assault, Possession of Cocaine and Driving While License Suspend or Revoked.

Bass will remain in the Wayne County Jail in Michigan where he will be held as a fugitive from justice until being brought back to Escambia County to face charges.
