U.S. Marshals Search for Man Who Walked Away from Fort Des Moines Work Release Center

Des Moines, IA – U.S. Marshals are searching for Derrick Dejuan Hoover, 25. A federal arrest warrant was issued for Hoover by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Iowa on Tuesday, January 7. Hoover is accused of violating conditions of federal release by walking away from the Fort Des Moines Work Release Center Tuesday night just before 5 p.m. Hoover was ordered to reside at the Fort Des Moines Work Release Center as a condition of release following previous federal convictions for Escape and for being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

Hoover is a black male, 5’07” and 200 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes. He has numerous tattoos and a scar on his forehead. Because of his history of possessing firearms, Hoover should be considered armed and dangerous.
