|U.S. Marshals Task Force Captures 'Dangerous Dozen' Fugitive After Anonymous Tip|
Lorain, OH – The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) arrested fugitive David Morales, age 29, at approximately 8:00 a.m. this morning at a residence on the 400 block of Delaware Avenue in Lorain. Morales was wanted for parole violation in Ohio and also for possession and trafficking of narcotics in Pennsylvania. The case was referred to the NOVFTF for apprehension by the Ohio Adult Parole Authority and the NOVFTF had been pursuing Morales throughout Northern Ohio over the last several weeks.
Morales was added to the NOVFTF’s most wanted “Dangerous Dozen” list last month and profiled in the local media. The NOVFTF was notified this week that Morales was also wanted for questioning regarding a homicide that occurred in Columbiana County, Ohio earlier this week. The NOVFTF made Morales a priority and profiled him again in local media hoping for assistance from the public. That move paid off well. This morning, the NOVFTF received an anonymous tip with information placing the fugitive at a residence in Lorain.
The NOVFTF investigated the information early this morning and determined it to be credible. The NOVFTF located and arrested Morales at the residence hiding in a bathroom and he was taken into custody without incident. Morales was transported to the Lorain City Jail.
Assistant Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal Drew Deserto stated, “We are relieved to have this dangerous fugitive in custody without incident. We thank the tipster and the media for assisting us with locating this individual and making our communities a safer place for everyone.”
