ACRONYM: JSSI ORIGINATOR:
ABSTRACT: The Judicial Security Staff Inventory (JSSI) system is a computerized system which consists of identifying information on personnel of the Judicial Security Division (JSD) and an inventory of accountable property assigned to each individual including weapon, protective body armor with expiration date of warranty, vehicle, credit cards, cell phone, pager and office equipment. PURPOSE: The JSSI system assists JSD management in the effective control of accountable property and to ensure that JSD personnel maintain equipment necessary and in proper working order to perform their functions, especially law enforcement functions, and to respond quickly to urgent operational law enforcement activities as they develop. ACCESS CONSTRAINTS: Access is restricted by assigned user code and password to personnel with a need-to-know to perform their official duties. USE CONSTRAINTS: Users are restricted to only those privileges necessary to perform assigned tasks. AGENCY PROGRAMS: The JSSI supports the USMS in the administration and implementation of courtroom security requirements for the Federal judiciary, and in the protection of Federal jurists, court officers, and other threatened persons in the interests of justice where criminal intimidation impedes the functioning of the Federal judicial process.
