Telephone: (202) 307-9105 FAX: (202) 307-9831 ABSTRACT: This system contains manuals, orders, notices and directives which set forth policies and procedures governing USMS administrative and operational activities. PURPOSE: This system facilitates the dissemination to all USMS employees of directives which govern their conduct and performance. ACCESS CONSTRAINTS: Records are protected from unauthorized access through appropriate administrative, physical, and technical safeguards. To the extent that information has not already been made available, access is restricted to USMS personnel. USE CONSTRAINTS: Users are restricted to only those privileges necessary to perform assigned tasks. AGENCY PROGRAMS: The USMS is charged with ensuring the effective operation of the judicial system through the execution of Federal warrants; the custody, housing and transportation of Federal prisoners; the security, health and safety of Government witnesses and their immediate dependants; courtroom security and protection of Federal jurists, court officers and other threatened persons; and the custody, management, control, and disposal of property and money seized or forfeited pursuant to laws enforced or administered by the Department of Justice. This system is an essential tool used by the USMS to ensure compliance with regulations and policies established to effectively and efficiently accomplish these functions.
