Three 'Fugitive's of the Week' Arrested in One Week
November 25, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals – New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force is pleased to announce the arrest of fugitives Beau Murray; John Boisvert; and Timothy Gray. All three of these fugitives that were arrested were previously featured as U.S. Marshals/WTPL-FM ‘Fugitive’s of the Week.’

One of Acadiana’s Most Wanted Arrested in Atlanta
November 13, 2009 - Twenty-Nine Year Old Ferdinand Nickles was arrested at an Apartment Complex in Decatur, GA (DeKalb County) by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Task Force (SERTF) in Atlanta. Nickles was being sought for 1st Degree Murder Charges that stemmed from the murder of Ernest Guidry in Vermilion Parish.

Child Predator Sentenced in Midland Federal Court
November 13, 2009 - Permian Basin residents can rest a little easier today as one more child predator is sentenced to prison time under the Adam Walsh Act, also known as the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act of 2006 in which U.S. Marshals have primary investigative authority. Kenneth Daniel Spriggs was sentenced yesterday by Federal District Judge Rob Junell in Midland, to 30 months in custody with the U.S. Bureau of Prisons, to be followed by a term of 20 years of supervised release.

Friday the 13th an Unlucky Day for Ohio Sex Offender
November 13, 2009 - Cathy J. Jones, Acting United States Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio and Montgomery County Sheriff Phil Plummer, announce the arrest of Lawrence W. Yancey. Yancey, who has an extensive criminal history to include assault, domestic violence, arson, robbery, and drugs is also a convicted sex offender after he was convicted of Unlawful Sexual Conduct with a Minor.

Madison County Escapee Captured
November 13, 2009 - Friday the thirteenth has proved to be a very unlucky day for a Madison County jail escapee and an 18 year old associate. On November 4, 2009, Benjamin Justin Jones escaped as he was being booked into the Madison County on federal charges of providing false information to a United States Forest Service Officer.

Marshals Task Force Captures Louisiana Prison Escapees in Pensacola
November 12, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force caught up with two Louisiana men who escaped from a jail in New Orleans late in October. On October 23 at about 1 a.m., Bryan Dunbar, 35, and Alex Lee, 30 had escaped from a temporary jail facility from Orleans Parish after climbing a fence and escaping on foot.

Escapee, Marshals 15 Most Wanted Fugitive Apprehended in Mexico
November 09, 2009 - A violent gang member, on the run since a 2006 Washington State jailbreak, was captured yesterday evening in Manzanillo in the Mexican state of Colima. Aaron Lopez Garcia, 31, was taken into custody by the Colima State Police, with the cooperation of Deputy U.S. Marshals assigned to the agency’s field office in Mexico City.

U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force Commanders Honored by Attorney General for Excellence in Law Enforcement
November 05, 2009 - WASHINGTON - On Wednesday, October 21st, United States Attorney General Eric Holder presented the Award for Excellence in Law Enforcement to the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force (RFTF) Program at the 57th Annual Attorney General’s Awards. The Award for Excellence is presented annually to Department of Justice representatives and recognizes outstanding professional achievements by law enforcement officers.

Local Fugitive Arrested by the United States Marshals Service Task Force
November 03, 2009 - Members of the United States Marshals Service Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force arrested Rodneick Carl Thompson for several outstanding warrants for his arrest. Thompson evaded arrest from local authorities on Monday, November 02, after being found in possession of a controlled substance and a prohibited weapon.

Six Fugitive Sex Offenders Arrested During Operation Safe Treat
October 30, 2009 - From October 28-30, Federal, State, and Local law enforcement agencies collaborated on “Operation Safe Treat,” a three day fugitive operation targeting non-compliant sex offenders and those wanted for various other sex related offenses and crimes against children. Operation Safe Treat netted law enforcement 6 arrests.

Marshals Task Force Apprehends Fugitive Wanted on Several Warrants; Also Suspect in Assault
October 30, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force apprehended a violent fugitive after they had to use a taser in order to subdue him. Emanuel Pride who is wanted by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office for Resisting Arrest, Failure to Appear, Drug Possession and charges revoking his bond was found hiding behind a clothes dresser by Task Force Officers in an apartment in Shalimar.

Suspect Wanted in a Double Homicide, Attempted Homicide from 14 Years ago in Alabama Arrested by Florida Marshals Task Force
October 30, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force apprehended an Alabama man who is wanted for two murders and an attempted murder that took place over a decade ago in Alabama. A warrant that was issued earlier this month in Coosa County, Al states that Charles Richard Tooley had badly beaten several people and then left them in a building that he set on fire.

Two Juvenile Murder Suspects Accused of Shooting 34 Year Old Herschell Palomore Jr. to Death are Apprehended in Cincinnati, Ohio
October 30, 2009 - The two juvenile suspects, 15 years of age and 17 years of age were arrested yesterday by the U.S. Marshals led Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST). Both juvenile suspects are charged with the October 24th Aggravated Robbery and Murder of Herschell Palomore Jr. in Cincinnati.

Area Law Enforcement Surprises Registered Sex Offenders During Operation “Knock-Knock”
October 29, 2009 - Nearly 400 registered sex offenders got a surprise visit from a task force of over 20 agents from 10 area law enforcement agencies last month. The operation, dubbed “Knock-Knock”, was led by the U.S. Marshals Service with the intent of verifying the addresses provided by convicted sex offenders during their initial or annual registration. Louisiana law requires convicted sex offenders to register with local law enforcement where they reside and work.

U.S. Marshals Task Force Captures Armed Robbery Suspect Sleeping with a Loaded Handgun
October 28, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force apprehended wanted fugitive Jonathan Ward. Ward was wanted by the Cleveland Division of Police on charges of armed robbery. Ward also had outstanding charges with the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office for carrying a concealed weapon.

Federal, State, and Local Cooperation Nabs Homicide Suspect
October 25, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Service, U.S. Department of State, Arizona Department of Public Safety and the Phoenix Police Department, members of the Arizona WANTED Task Force arrested Lazar Yousif Lazar as he re-entered the United States . In March 2009 a warrant was issued by the Maricopa County Superior Court for the arrest of Lazar after he failed to appear for court proceedings related to the prior charges of First Degree Murder, Assisting a Criminal Street Gang, Aggravated Assault, and Robbery.

Emanuel County Arrested in Eden
October 22, 2009 - An Emanuel County man wanted by the Emanuel County Sheriff’s Department in Swainsboro, Georgia was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Savannah Office of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force in Eden, Georgia. Patric Kersey, 45, was being sought on numerous state warrants for Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer, Aggravated Assault, two charges of Aggravated Battery, and Felony Obstruction.

U.S. Marshals Locate Missing “Endangered” Juvenile
October 22, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force located a missing “endangered” juvenile in Thomasville, GA. The Marshals task force was contacted by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office located in Eastman, GA for assistance after developing information indicating the juveniles were possibly in the area. According to Lt. Donald Helm, two juveniles, 16 year old Jamila Roberson and 17 year old Hermina Brown, disappeared from the campus of Dodge County High School on Tuesday, October 13.

Lone Star Fugitive Task Force Arrests Fugitive Charged with Federal Violations after Firearms Charges Leveled
October 21, 2009 - The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) arrested Ruben Nuncio Jr. on Federal Charges after developing information he may be hiding out at a motel in San Antonio. On September 28, 2009, a federal arrest warrant was issued charging Ruben Nuncio Jr. with a violation of the conditions of Federal Supervised Release.

U.S. Marshals Arrest Child Pornography Suspect for Eastern Iowa Fugitive Task Force
October 21, 2009 - Charles Andrew Williams, wanted on a federal warrant by the U.S. Marshals Eastern Iowa Fugitive Task Force for Possession of Child Pornography, was arrested yesterday by the U.S. Marshals in Pensacola. The U.S. Marshals in Cedar Rapids, Iowa requested the assistance of the Pensacola Division of the Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force to locate and arrest Williams. Task Force members with the Eastern Iowa Fugitive Task Force received information that Williams was living in Pace, Florida. The Pensacola Task Force apprehended Williams without incident

Florida Fugitive Arrested in Savannah
October 21, 2009 - A Florida man wanted by the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Department in Largo, Florida was arrested by the United States Marshals Savannah Office of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Police Department (SCMPD) Precinct Officers in Savannah, Georgia. Jovan Collier, 31, was being sought a state warrant for Aggravated Stalking.

Fugitive Arrested in Arizona
October 19, 2009 - Cathy J. Jones, U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio, announced that Marco Medina has been arrested. In August of 2004, United States District Court Judge Edmund A. Sargus Jr. issued a warrant for Medina’s arrest. The warrant charged Medina with Conspiracy and Possession with Intent to Distribute over one hundred kilograms of marijuana.

Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association Honors U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force Program with National Award
October 19, 2009 - Washington - The Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association (FLEOA) has announced that the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force (RFTF) Program is the recipient of the 2008 National Award for Group Achievement. The six Regional Fugitive Task Forces, which cover 28 federal judicial districts, were commended for their work in reducing violent crime by targeting fugitive felons, including sex offenders who fail to register, and individuals associated with gang activity.

October 13, 2009 - A North Carolina man wanted by the Raleigh Police Department was arrested by the United States Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Police Department (SCMPD) Westside Precinct Officers in Savannah, Georgia. Justin Jamel Brown, 20, was being sought a state warrant for Armed Robbery, issued on October 9, 2009 in Raleigh, North Carolina.

October 07, 2009 - Two murder suspects and an armed kidnapper are apprehended within hours of each other in Cincinnati, Ohio. Antonio Portis, 19 years of age, Demar Edmonds, 22 years of age, and Jerome Taylor, 43 years of age, were arrested yesterday by the U.S. Marshals led Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST).

Federal Fugitive on the Run for Three Years Captured by U.S. Marshals Service
October 02, 2009 - Troy Wayne Fletcher, a federal fugitive on the run for three years, was captured by U.S. Marshals Service. Fletcher was indicted on child pornography charges in the Western District of Arkansas in November of 2006. Fletcher was on a home detention monitor while awaiting trial. Fletcher cut the monitor off and went on the run in December of 2006.

NWA Fugitive Task Force Nets Terry Hayes Following Exhaustive Man Hunt
October 02, 2009 - The Northwest Arkansas Sex Offender and Violent Crime Task Force arrested Terry Hayes, 41, in the Gravette, Arkansas area this morning after an exhaustive man hunt. On September 28, 2009, a federal warrant was issued for Hayes’ arrest for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.

Jury Convicts Cincinnati Man of Failing to Register as Sex Offender

U.S. Marshals Task Force Reaches Out to Puerto Rico to Arrest and Return Violent Fugitive Andres Arzola
September 29, 2009 - Peter J. Elliott, U.S. Marshal for the Northern District of Ohio announces that the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, Lorain County Division apprehended violent fugitive Andres Arzola in Ponce, Puerto Rico. Arzola was wanted by the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office for 12 counts of Armed Robbery and 12 counts of Kidnapping and he was also wanted by the Lorain Police Department for Felonious Assault, Aggravated Burglary and Kidnapping.

September 22, 2009 - After sixteen months on the run, a man wanted by the Evans County Sheriff’s Department in Claxton, Georgia has been arrested by the U.S. Marshals South Carolina Operation Intercept Fugitive Task Force in Bishopville, South Carolina. Roger Terrell Wilkes, 21, was being sought a state warrant for Failure to Appear.

Savannah Man Arrested
September 21, 2009 - A Savannah man wanted by the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles and the Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Police Department (SCMPD) was arrested by the United States Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, SCMPD K-9, SCMPD Detectives, Savannah Impact Officers, and SCMPD Trap Officers in Savannah, Georgia. Roland Parker, 20, was being sought a state warrant for Parole Violation.
