2009 Drug Market Analyses for the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas Available on Line

The National Drug Intelligence Center (NDIC) announces the release of 32 High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Drug Market Analyses (DMA) for 2009. These reports, produced at the request of the Office of National Drug Control Policy, provide a strategic overview of the illicit drug situation in each of the HIDTA regions.

The HIDTA DMAs are designed to provide policymakers, resource planners, and law enforcement officials with a focused discussion of key drug-related issues and developments. NDIC Intelligence Analysts prepared these reports through detailed collection and analysis of statistical data, information from law enforcement and public health officials, and other information to highlight significant trends and law enforcement concerns related to the trafficking and abuse of illicit drugs.

NDIC has distributed the DMAs to all appropriate federal, state, and local government and law enforcement agencies, as well as intelligence organizations engaged in counternarcotics and drug control. The 32 DMAs listed below are available on line at: http://www.justice.gov/ndic/topics/dmas.htm
