FOIA Update: OIP to Publish 1982 Case List

The Office of Information and Privacy (OIP) will publish later this month the 1982 edition of the Freedom of Information Case List, containing the most comprehensive listings of published and unpublished federal access decisions to date.

This year more than 1,500 FOIA and Privacy Act access cases, with full case histories, will be listed alphabetically and also indexed according to subject matter topics. More than 500 new decisions will be listed this year, including some pre-1981 decisions located through new research efforts.

In addition, there will be separate updated listings of cases interpreting all aspects of the Privacy Act of 1974, the Government in the Sunshine Act and the Federal Advisory Committee Act, as well as an updated list of all "reverse" FOIA cases. The Case List will also include a completely new "Short Guide to the Freedom of Information Act," as well as revised citations to related law review articles.

Edited by Yvette P. Rhodes of the OIP staff, the 1982 Case List will be available through the Superintendent of Documents, GPO, Washington, D.C. 20402. The price is expected to be it approximately $7.50 per copy.
