IT Working Group Meeting

Last Fall, the Office of Information Policy (OIP) held a planning meeting to discuss the use of information technology tools to improve administration of the FOIA.  At this meeting, OIP previewed a variety of ways that technology tools and applications can assist agencies in many aspects of FOIA processing, from facilitating document search and review to creation of shared platforms where multiple offices can view and comment on a document simultaneously.

OIP will continue to host similar meetings so that agencies can exchange ideas and experiences in utilizing technology to streamline the FOIA process.  The details for the next meeting are below:

When: January 26, 2012
Where: Office of Information Policy
1425 New York Avenue NW, Suite 11050
Time: 11:00 - noon
Who should attend: Agency representatives with experience
utilizing technology.

Registration is required to attend this event and space is limited.  This meeting is not open to contractors.  If you are interested in attending, please e-mail your name to OIP’s Training Officer, Bertina Adams Cleveland, at DOJ.OIP.FOIA@usdoj.gov.  If you have any questions regarding this event, please contact Ms. Adams at (202) 514-1010.
